Servus Credit Union Place (www.servusplace.ca) is a part of the community of St. Albert; a place where residents gather to pursue healthy living. The facility hosts 2,700 members and guests daily in over 320,000 square feet of leisure and fitness space including ice surfaces, two soccer field houses, a Fitness and Wellness Centre, track gymnasium and meeting rooms.

The Opportunity

We are currently accepting applications for Exercise & Wellness Specialists to join the Servus Place Fitness & Wellness team.

Specialists are responsible for providing exceptional front-line customer service and program/fitness service delivery to guests of the Tailor Made Insurance Fitness and Wellness Centre. This is a casual position with the opportunity to work up to full-time hours, as you also have an opportunity to utilize your skills and training for personal training, group fitness instruction and more.

Exercise & Wellness Specialists supervise the fitness area, deliver fitness centre orientations, provide member goal setting sessions, deliver fitness services, assist with equipment maintenance and some cleaning duties.

To complement this position, Exercise & Wellness Specialists will also provide other services such as: group fitness instruction, personal training, team dryland training and fitness assessments (a separate wage scale will be applied for those positions).

Qualifications

• A degree or diploma in Physical Education, Kinesiology or a related field.
• We seek individuals with a minimum of 2 years of related experience, preferably in a recreation/fitness environment.
• CSEP-CPT, NSCA-CSCS or equivalent certifications are required.
• AFLCA or equivalent group exercise certification would be an asset.
• Current First Aid/CPR certification is required, prior to hire, for this position.
• The ideal candidate will be proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) and have experience with a membership management database.

Hours of Work

The facility is open:
Monday – Friday 5:30 a.m. – 10:30 p.m.
Saturday 6:30 a.m. – 10:30 p.m.
Sunday 6:30 a.m. – 9:30 p.m.

Compensation

The hourly wage range as a Specialist is $19.79 - $24.10

A separate wage range will apply for additional positions such as:
Group Fitness Instruction $30.00 - $55.00 per hour
Personal Training $20.00 - $42.50 per hour
Dryland Training $35.00 - $60.00 per hour
