The Opportunity

The City of St. Albert is recruiting an individual to join our Recreation and Parks Department as a Business Operations Associate.

As the Business Operations Associate you will be responsible for generating and producing regular internal reporting and financial analysis as identified by the Recreation and Parks department. Monitoring budgets for relevant accounts/cost centres. Monthly auditing of charges to relevant accounts/cost centres.

As the Business Operations Associate you will work to generate and produce regular and one off internal and external reporting and analysis requests identified by the Recreation and Parks department, ensuring analytical depth in the collection of statistical and qualitative information to support evidence-based analysis and decision making. Part of ensuring analytical depth is ensuring regular reporting and data checks in Microsoft Power BI are completed for month end and as anomalies arise.

The Business Operations Associate is responsible for supporting the implementation of departmental processes including template creation, meeting facilitation and logistics, document review and auditing, coordination, and communication within the department and between internal service departments and Recreation & Parks in the implementation of those timelines and processes (IT, HR, Corporate Planning, Legislative Services, Legal, Purchasing and Finance).


• Two Year Diploma in Business Administration, or Business Analysis combined with 3 years of related experience, or a Certificate in Business Analysis, Business Intelligence or Business Administration combined with 5 years of related experience, or equivalencies will be considered.
• Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; MS Planner; Internet
• Experience in Microsoft Power Platform specifically PowerBI, Power Automate, PowerApps, Agresso, and Intelli Recreation Management Software is considered an asset.
• Social and emotional intelligence skills and a positive customer service approach.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and experience in business writing.
• Interpersonal skills (highly collaborative work environment).
• Ability to work in a fast paced, fluid environment. Must be prepared to adapt to sudden changes, all the while being able to communicate the changes in a timely manner.

Hours of Work

We offer a compressed work schedule of 72 hours bi-weekly (Monday - Friday, 8:00 – 5:00 with a regular day off [RDO] every two weeks).

Hybrid Remote Work – This position may be eligible to apply for Hybrid Remote Work at the completion of the probationary period. Hybrid Remote Work means the majority of worktime (51+%) will be completed in the designated workspace, and the remainder may be worked remotely.

Flexible Schedule Arrangement - This position is eligible to apply for the Flexible Schedule. Options for flexible schedule include: 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.,7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., or 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.


$55,244-65,985 per annum. In addition, the City of St. Albert offers a comprehensive benefit package not including pension.


This is a term position from July to November 2025, with the possibility of an extension.
