The Opportunity

Are you passionate about dogs and parks? Do you thrive on gathering and analyzing data? Join our team as a Parks Planning Assistant and play a vital role in enhancing the quality of our community's outdoor spaces!

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Conduct weekly data downloads and reviews for people counters at various locations.
• Perform on-site intercept surveys at dog parks over a 4-week period, capturing insights at different times (days, evenings, weekends), ensuring safety by working in pairs.
• Input data collected from surveys with meticulous attention to detail.
• Conduct usage surveys across 7 Heritage Lakes parks at various times, recording valuable information for park management.
• Provide support for Jennifer and Raspberry Park Openings when available.
• Manage files related to the Commemorative Program efficiently.


• Passion for dogs, parks, and community engagement.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in pairs and independently.
• Availability for flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Proficiency in data input and management is an asset.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Hours of Work

Work hours vary, days, evenings, and weekends. Hours would range from approximately 8 to 20 hours weekly.


$21.56 - $25.75 per hour based on qualifications and experience.


Six (6) week term starting in Mid-June 2024.

Conditions of Employment
