The Opportunity Under the supervision of the Team Lead – Facility Services, the Plumber performs various duties in all areas of plumbing maintenance and repair, as well as alteration and installation of plumbing systems, in compliance with corporate and provincially legislated Occupational Health and Safety regulations, policies and codes of practice and the City of St Albert Environmental Management System. This position directs and participates in the construction, maintenance and repair of municipal facility and structures.The individual we seek has strong interpersonal, planning, writing and organization skills. The role requires the ability to work independently as well as contribute to a team environment. Qualifications • Grade 12 education• Journeyperson Plumber/Gasfitter Class A certificate recognized by the Province of Alberta• A minimum of 5 years of recent directly related plumbing/gas fitting maintenance experience• Class 5 Alberta Drivers license with less than 5 demerits• Current Standard First Aid Certification• Proficient computer skills using Microsoft Office programs• The position involves physical labour as well as sitting, riding, and standing. Must be prepared to work in all weather conditions and be able to work at heights. Hours of Work Work schedule of 80 hours, Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, 30 Minute unpaid lunch break.On-Call Rotation: Must participate in an on-call rotation, covering one week every 8-10 weeks, including evenings and weekends for emergency support. Compensation $44.54 per hour. In addition, the City of St. Albert offers a comprehensive benefit package including Pension. Conditions of Employment The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a satisfactory police information check and a RCMP issued Reliability clearance.
