Job Details The City of St. Albert is recruiting an individual to join our Recreation and Parks department as a Community Recreation Coordinator.Reporting to the Community Recreation Supervisor, this position will be responsible for providing support to create and maintain healthy and self-sustaining community groups that provide recreation, sport, and leisure services opportunities for the community, through organizational development, capital and general project support to community organizations, information and referral and community group partner agreements. Responsibilities: Provide ongoing liaison with not-for-profit recreation organizations, service clubs and community organization. Coordination of special projects as they are identified in the Business Plans. Network with other municipalities and provincial organizations to share information and investigate possible joint ventures Provide board level support related to governance, capital asset management and development, and strategic planning. Manages and develops lease and other partner agreements. Influence and lead continuous improvement of business unit programs and processes. Represent the City of St. Albert by delivering transparent, timely, and accurate information to the community, stakeholders, and partners. Qualifications A Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation, Physical Education or related field and three (3) years of related experience, in the field of community recreation, or a two (2) year Diploma combined with five (5) years of related experience. A proven record of establishing and maintaining relationships with community groups and other stakeholders. Evidence of competency in program development, organization development, facility project/process management, financial management concepts and techniques, and/or monitoring and evaluation. Proficiency with software applications including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint, is required. Alberta Recreation and Parks Association membership is considered an assetEquivalent combinations of experience and education may be considered. Hours of Work We offer a compressed bi-weekly work schedule of 72 hours, Monday - Friday, 8:00 – 5:00, with a biweekly regular day off (RDO). This position will be required to work flexible hours (e.g., evening/weekends) to accommodate meetings or events from time to time. Benefit from flexible work hours by adjusting your start and end times by 30 or 60 minutes around our core hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Compensation The salary ranges from $83,549 - $102,830 per annum including a comprehensive benefits package. Term This is a term position from January 2026 to January 2027, with the possibility of an extension. This assignment is covering an employee on leave and is subject to their early return.
