The Opportunity

Recreation & Park’s Crusin Clubhouse drop-in program is a community staple in St. Albert and are gearing up for another exciting summer of connecting with the community at a variety of parks and playgrounds!

The leaders of this program are outgoing, have a passion for planning and playing games and activities with kids ages 3-10 and adults. They thrive being outdoors for long periods of time, have a knowledge of St. Albert communities, playgrounds and parks, and bring adaptability, creativity, and passion for play to each day.

Each week, the Crusin leaders cruise in the Crusin Clubhouse van visiting 10 different parks engaging with community in a variety of structured and unstructured activities, inclusive games, and themed crafts creating memorable experiences for participants.

Qualifications

• Immediate First Aid/CPR-C with AED certification is required
• Valid Class 5 Drivers License and clear drivers abstract showing fewer than 5 demerits is required
• Experience planning, leading and supervising activities with children
• Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills are necessary to address and resolve customer inquiries and concerns
• Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills
• HIGH FIVE ®PHCD and/or Sport Certifications and NCCP FMS Certification are an asset

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
This position is in receipt of Canada Summer Jobs funding and therefore to be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria outlined by the Canada Summer Jobs program:

• be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment;
• be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment*; and
• have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.

Hours of Work

Weekday daytime shifts (up to 44 hours per week) between June 11- August 29, 2025 (Including Canada Day).

Compensation

Starting at $16.96-$20.65 per hour based on qualifications and experience.

Conditions of Employment

  • The successful applicant will be required to obtain a clear vulnerable sector police information check.
  • Valid Class 5 Drivers License and clear drivers abstract showing fewer than 5 demerits is required.
  • The successful candidate will be required to provide proof of educational and professional credentials.
