The Opportunity:

The City of St. Albert Recreation and Parks department offers a number of high-quality programs to residents of our community and we are currently accepting applications for Instructors to deliver our PLAYcare program, where infants and children can play and be supervised while parents attend fitness and recreation classes.

PLAYcare is a pre-registered, active program that focuses on age and stage appropriate FUNdamental movement skills outlined by Canadian Sport for Life. Kids get to play, be active and make new friends while playing games, making crafts, having dance parties, building forts and so much more.

As a PLAYcare Instructor, you will be responsible for the safety and care of children between the ages of 2 months and 9 years old.
Your duties will include: checking participants in/out, leading children in various activities with a focus on building FUNdamental movement skills, providing exceptional customer service, light cleaning duties and adhering to Health & Safety legislation, guidelines and procedures.


• Prior experience working with children (ages 2 months to 9 years) is required.
• Experience working in a childcare facility is an asset.
• Current Standard First Aid and CPR C certification is required prior to starting.
• Applicants must possess strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills are necessary to address and resolve customer inquiries and concerns.
• A passion for creating a fun environment and delivering excellent service is essential.

Hours of Work:

Shifts available from September 1 - December 18 are:

Monday - Saturday from 8:30 - 11:00 a.m.


Starting at $15.89 per hour
