The Opportunity:

The City of St. Albert is recruiting an individual to join our Financial Services & Information Technology department as an Application Management Team Lead.

Reporting to the Application and Data Services Manager, this position will be responsible for leading the Applications Team. This role is critical to delivering and managing our enterprise business applications, as well as managing and maintaining the associated infrastructure. Including overseeing transformation and best practices to ensure that City staff have accurate, current, and accessible data for daily operations and decision making.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:
• Supervising the City’s Application Management Team including team member development and performance planning
• Leading all aspects of program objectives, implementation, and evaluation.
• Being a key resource in shaping, implementing, and managing the SharePoint strategy across the organization.
• Ensuring quality service delivery and continuous improvement by understanding the organizations corporate and strategic goals and linking them to Application programs and initiatives.
• Ensuring optimal performance of applications and best practices for application usage across the organization by following IT Project Management and Application Management frameworks.
• Leading analysis activities, facilitating engagement with cross functional teams to understand business processes, functions, and capabilities, to solicit requirements for application changes, enhancements and/or features and recommend solutions that align with business needs.
• Documenting requirements, alternatives, recommendations, specifications, configurations, test scenarios and test results.
• Investigating and resolving issues around data integrity and consistency, across multiple systems, databases, and platforms.
• Responsible for incident management, identifying and resolving application issues and defects, escalating issues to vendor support, diagnosing, trouble shooting and documenting resolutions.

The Application Management Lead will supervise a team of five (5) application analysts while working in collaboration with the Data Management team.

Qualifications:

• A University degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related discipline.
• Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience providing application management services
• Two (2) years in a leadership/supervisory role, preferably in a government setting.
• A combination of education and experience will be considered.
• Experience with SharePoint Online administration, configuration and workflow design
• Business analysis or GIS experience is an asset.

Hours of Work:

We offer a compressed schedule of 72 hours bi-weekly (Monday - Friday, 8:00 – 5:00 with a regular day off [RDO]).

Compensation:

$86,823 - $106,859 per annum. In addition, the City of St. Albert offers a comprehensive benefit package including a defined benefit pension plan.

Remote Work
This position is designated for full-time remote work; however, given the nature of the Application Management Team Lead’s project related activities, there may be a requirement to attend meetings/events at a City facility. Candidates must live within a commutable distance of 50 km and complete a remote work agreement to meet all policy requirements
