The Opportunity:

The City of St. Albert Recreation and Parks department offers a number of high-quality programs to residents of our community and we are currently accepting applications for Instructors to deliver our PLAYcare service and/or Archer Dodgeball program, where children can play and be supervised while parents attend fitness and recreation classes.

PLAYcare Instructors: PLAYcare is a drop-in service where kids get to play, be active and make new friends through games, making crafts, having dance parties, building forts and so much more.

As a PLAYcare Instructor you will be responsible for the safety and care of children between the ages of 2 months and 9 years old. Duties include checking participants in/out, leading children in various activities, providing exceptional customer service, light cleaning duties and adhering to Health & Safety legislation, guidelines and procedures.

Archery Dodgeball Instructors: Archery Dodgeball Instructors are responsible for planning and delivering archery dodgeball games, ensuring all participants are wearing their safety equipment, prior to each game, sanitizing equipment at the end of each shift and role modeling sportsmanship.


• Prior experience working with children is required.
• Experience working in a childcare facility is an asset.
• Current Standard First Aid and CPR C with AED certification is required prior to starting.
• Applicants must possess strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills are necessary to address and resolve customer inquiries and concerns.
• A passion for creating a fun environment and delivering excellent service is essential.

Hours of Work:

Shifts available from September 19 – December 23, 2022 are:

PLAYcare Instructors: shifts are Monday-Friday from 8:30a.m.-noon & Saturdays from 7:45a.m.-12:15p.m.

Archery Dodgeball Instructors: Shifts are Thursdays 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m.


Starting at $16.13 per hour
