The Opportunity The City of St. Albert Recreation and Parks department offers a number of high-quality programs to residents of our community, and we are currently accepting applications for Instructors to deliver our PLAYcare service where children play, craft, dance, and make friends under our supervision, and preschool registered parented and unparented recreation programs. As a PLAYcare Instructor you will be responsible for the safety and care of children between the ages of 1 year and 9 years old. Duties include checking participants in/out, providing exceptional customer service, leading children in various activities, light cleaning duties and adhering to Health & Safety legislation, guidelines, and procedures.As a Preschool Instructor, you will be responsible for planning and implementing weekly recreational and PLAY-based parented and unparented programs preschool (aged 0-6Y). You will manage small class sizes utilizing different areas within Servus Place and outdoor spaces, allowing you to offer a variety of fun activities safely and creatively. Qualifications • Experience working with children in a childcare facility and/or planning and leading children in recreational and play based programming is required.• High Five and Early Childhood Educator certifications are an asset.• Current Standard First Aid and CPR C with AED certification is required prior to starting.• Excellent customer service, communication and problem-solving skills are necessary.• A passion for creating a fun environment and delivering excellent service is essential. Hours of Work Shifts available starting September 5, 2023:PLAYcare shifts Monday to Sunday 8:45a.m.-12:15p.m. Preschool registered programs run weekday morning and afternoon and are based on registrations. Compensation Starting at $16.53 per hour. Conditions of Employment • The successful applicant will be required to obtain/maintain a satisfactory vulnerable sector police information check.• The successful candidate will be required to provide proof of educational and professional credentials.
