Our Business License branch is responsible for administration, inspection and enforcement of the business and tobacco licensing bylaws. As your primary responsibility, you will assist the Business License Representative in ensuring that all businesses are operating with a valid City of St. Albert Business License.As the Business License Assistant, you will support our Economic Development team in a variety of projects and tasks that will include, but are not limited to:• Following up with businesses on outstanding accounts. • Processing payments for new business licenses or renewing their annual license.• Printing and mailing licenses to businesses.• Responding to business license related email and phone inquiries.• Processing business license details into a database.• Exporting data for department reports. The individual we seek has strong written and verbal communication skills combined with strong computer skills. Someone who is flexible, open minded and motivated would be a good fit for this role. Qualifications • High School Diploma, Business administration or municipal administration experience.• Customer service experience.• Organizational skills.• Professional writing skills.• Familiar with databases or CRM.• Computer skills (Microsoft Office, Tempest Municipal Software). Hours of Work Flexible days (to be negotiated)Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Compensation $21.01 - $25.09 per hour based on qualifications and experience. Term This is a casual position commencing June 1, 2023, to August 31, 2023. Conditions of Employment The successful applicant will be required to obtain and/or maintain a satisfactory police information check.The successful candidate will be required to provide proof of educational and professional credentials.
