The Opportunity:

The City of St. Albert Recreation and Parks department offers a number of high-quality programs to residents of our community and we are currently accepting applications for Instructors to deliver our Parented and Unparented Preschool Programs both at Servus Place and out in the community.

Parented programs are for preschoolers between the ages of 18 months and 3 years, and unparented programs are for preschoolers between the ages of 3 and 5 years. These programs involve a variety of fun themes and incorporate the development of Fundamental Movement skills through active games and activities.

As an Instructor, you will be involved in detailed program planning, greeting participants and their parents, instruction of activities, and the preparation and cleaning of your assigned space.


• Prior experience working with children (18 months to 5 years) is required.
• Completion of a related diploma program, two years of a related degree program, or direct experience in a playschool or school setting is an asset.
• NCCP FMS Certification or Preschool programming experience is an asset.
• Current Standard First Aid/CPR C Certificate is required prior to starting.
• Applicants must possess strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills are necessary to address and resolve customer inquiries and concerns.
• A passion for creating a fun environment and delivering excellent service is essential.

Hours of Work:

Shifts available from September 20-December 16 are:

Mondays and Wednesdays from 8:30 - 11:00 a.m.
Mondays and Wednesdays from 10:00 - 12:30 p.m.
Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:45 - 11:45 a.m.
Saturdays from 8:30 - 11:45 a.m.
Saturdays from 10:00 - 12:30 p.m.

Programs take place at Servus Credit Union Place, Grandin Clubhouse, and Lacombe Lake Park.


Starting at $15.89 per hour
